The self-styled "Gypsy King" stood and stared down Wilder in the ring afterwards as they confirmed their WBC heavyweight world title fight, which is expected to take place in Las Vegas on November 17.

Wilder will be ringside for Saturday's fight, according to ESPN, and a future showdown between him and Fury could be announced immediately afterward, assuming Fury defeats Pianeta.

Two-and-a-half years on and the duo's goading duel - which continued this week with Wilder crashing Fury's weigh-in - will finally be settled in the ring.

Fury won every round against his opponent before squaring off with Wilder in a rain-drenched Windsor Park. I said send me the contract, they sent me the contract.

Wilder has been at Belfast during fight week to generate buzz of a future fight with Fury. It is on. This fight is official.

Fury, the former world heavyweight champion, cleared the way for a fight with Wilder, the current WBC titleholder, by winning the second bout of his comeback on Sunday (NZ time).

The 6-foot-9 Fury is a former IBF, WBA and WBO Champion who has never been defeated in 27 professional fights.

Fury, 30, completed his second successful comeback bout of his summer against Pianeta in his return to the ring from a almost three-year layoff due to substance abuse and mental-health issues.

"My promise is, I got my 10 rounds here tonight, but one thing I promise when I get to Las Vegas, I am knocking you the f*** out bum".

It is perhaps boxing's biggest bout of the year other than the middleweight rematch between Gennady Golovkin and Canelo Alvarez next month. "It's no secret I needed the rounds to be able to show I can slip and slide still and I did just that". This was a step up in opponent and a better display.

"If I ain't good enough so be it, I'm taking this fight because I know I can win".

Fury, who switched to southpaw for the last two rounds, did not get the grandstand finish he or his promoter Warren wanted, but he did answer questions about his fitness, as he looked sharp until the end.
