Manchester United are finally set to sign Tottenham centre back Toby Alderweireld for around £60m in the coming days, after the two clubs made a breakthrough in negotiations over the weekend.

Toby Alderweireld has been United's top target for this transfer window.

However, despite links with Manchester United, Alderweireld insists he is focusing on the new season as a Spurs player. However, with Tottenham demanding as much as £75 million for his services, the 20-time English champions were dissuaded from making a move for the Belgian.

According to Manchester Evening News, the Sun report the Red Devils' £35m move for Yerry fell through after a disagreement with agent fees.

However, Tottenham have chose to relax their stance on the asking price for Alderweireld. The 29-year old will be looking to bring the same form to Old Trafford as he partners with Eric Bailly and help Manchester United win trophies this season.
