In an April letter addressed to Argento confirming the final details of the deal and setting out a schedule of payments, Goldberg characterized the money as "helping Mr. Bennett". However, Bennett's lawyer, Gordon K. Sattro told the Times: "In the coming days, Jimmy will continue doing what he has been doing over the past months and years, focusing on his music".

The Times has tried repeatedly since Thursday to get a response to the matter from Argento and her representatives. "You are a powerful and inspiring creator and it is a miserable condition of life that you live among shitty individuals who've preyed on both your strengths and your weaknesses".

According to the legal documents obtained by the Times, Bennett was escorted to Argento's hotel by a family member in May of 2013 for a reunion of sorts. Following the incident, it was reported that Asia settled Jimmy's notice of intent to sue for $380,000.

The notice claimed that Argento's "sexual battery" of Bennett left him with lasting emotional trauma that rendered him unable to make a living, the report said.

Earlier this year, Argento's boyfriend, celebrity chef Anthony Bourdain, died by suicide. Bourdain and Argento were in a relationship before his death.

Asia Argento, an Italian actress and director at the forefront of the #MeToo campaign that brought down producer Harvey Weinstein over sexual assault, herself reportedly assaulted an underage actor, and paid him to stay silent. I was 21 years old.

Bennett alleges in the notice that he had sex with Argento in a hotel in California in 2013 when he was 17 and Asia was 37; the age of consent in California is 18.

Since the New Yorker exposé, Weinstein has been charged in NY with six felony counts of sex assault, including rape.

However, maintaining his innocence, Weinstein, whose career has been left in tatters, has always denied non-consensual sex. The settlement is reported to have happened just months after the Weinstein accusations were made public.

Asia Argento along with a dozen other women kicked off the avalanche of sexual assault allegations that has been hitting powerful men in the United States movie industry and beyond.
