How to download and install Fortnite on your Android phone

Epic has stated that avoiding the 30% cut which Google takes from sales on the Google Play Store was part of the reason why they avoided the service. Of course, the company has measures in place that are supposed to stop fake versions of apps making their way to the store - or at least getting them removed quickly - but we've seen time and time again that these measures fail, thereby putting Android users at risk.

Epic clearly has its own reasons for deciding to offer Fortnite for mobile outside of the Play Store.

While Samsung smartphones such as Galaxy S7, Galaxy S7 Edge, Galaxy S8-series, Galaxy S9-series, Galaxy Note 8, Galaxy Note 9, Tab S3 and S4, are eligible for Fortnite Beta for Android, the official website is accepting requests from non-Samsung users. But Epic Games has decided against releasing Fortnite on Google's app store, which means users will have to download the game using an APK.

Once you download the APK, the file must be moved to an Android smartphone for further installation.

Epic Games launched the game on Apple's store in mid-March, and has since then earned more than United States dollars 180 million on iOS devices. All you need to do is fire up Galaxy Apps and search for it (though right now it's featured on the front page). Epic Games has yet to comment on this issue.

The rifle, which looks strikingly similar, if not exactly the same, to the Barrett sniper rifle featured in a slew of video games in the past, is said to be incredibly powerful, so much so that it's able to cause massive amounts of damage to all structures, whether they be wood, stone, or metal. It's steering people away from fake and possibly risky apps that might try to cash in on the confusion of Fortnite not being in the one place you'd really expect it to be.

When you get the email from Epic, depending on your security settings, you'll likely be asked to grant Android permissions to install apps from "Unknown" sources. And when you think it's downloaded, you can open it to find out that there's an additional 1.04GB download.
