Gold, also starring Amit Sadh, Kunal Kapoor, Vineet Kumar Singh, Sunny Kaushal and Mouni Roy, has emerged to be Akshay Kumar's biggest opening till date. Plus, both the film were filled with the feeling of patriotism which is apt for the day. She plays Akshay Kumar's wife in "Gold", a sports drama which revolves around hockey.

Akshay Kumar's Gold and John Abraham's Satyameva Jayate have proved that a same day release may after all not be a bad a thing. Interestingly, the long weekend turned out to be in favour of both the movies.

Taran took to micro-blogging site Twitter and wrote, "And the biz multiplies on Sun..." The combined collection of the two movies is Rs 125 cr. However, the film is facing tough competition from John Abraham starrer Satyamev Jayate. However, both the films managed to hold their grip on the box office till the weekend. This makes the total four-day box office collections of the film to stand at Rs 41 crore nett approx. But the Milap Zaveri-directed film has registered a "decent" total on Day 4 - Rs 7.25 crore - and the film's total collection now stands at Rs 40.75 crore, the report added. Although it opened with a bang on Wednesday (Rs 25.25 crore), it witnessed a substantial dip on the second day (Rs 8.10 crore).
