After his wife and daughters were reported missing on Monday and before his arrest, Christopher Watts told reporters he missed them and longed for the simple things like telling his girls to eat their dinner and gazing at them as they curled up to watch cartoons.

Sources told Denver's KMGH-TV that the father may have placed the girls' bodies inside oil and gas tanks on his employer's property in order to prevent passersby by from smelling the corpses.

"I love you so much and so grateful you hung around when I tried pushing you away in the beginning!"

Colorado dad and husband, Chris Watts, 33, is expected to be officially charged on August 19 with the shocking murders of his pregnant wife, Shanann, 34, and their two daughters, Bella, 4, and Celeste, 3, and now a heartbreaking Facebook video has surfaced that shows little Bella pleasantly singing about him before the bad incident. Shanann and her children will be dearly missed.

Watts was sacked on Wednesday, the same day he was arrested, an Anadarko Petroleu spokesperson said.

Frederick Police, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and CBI joined other agencies in the three-day search for Shanann Watts, and her daughters Bella and Celeste.

They also had some student loans and medical bills for a total of $70,000 (£54,876) in unsecured claims on top of a sizeable mortgage.

Watts' husband, Chris Watts, was arrested in connection with their deaths but has not yet been formally charged. She wasn't here, the kids weren't here, it was like they were here and then they were gone'.

Le-Vel, a "health and wellness" company Shanann Watts worked for, according to her public Facebook page, has posted a message regarding Watts and her two daughters.

Chris Watts, 33, was arrested on three counts of first-degree murder and three counts of tampering with a deceased human body, a Weld County District Court judge said during Watts' court appearance on Thursday. A TV station, Denver 7, said Watts has confessed to the freakish killings.

Defense attorney James Merson wrote in one of two motions obtained by 9Wants to Know that he'd spoken with a DNA expert, Richard Eikelenboom.

It's not clear whether a judge ordered the coroner's officer to swab for DNA.

Authorities are expected to file charges against Mr Watts, who was sacked from his job on Wednesday, the day he was arrested.

Shanann Watts' body was found on the property of Anadarko Petroleum, authorities said. "I just want 30 seconds alone with that heartless psychopath".

'I came home and it was like I walked into a ghost town.

Christopher Watts's attorneys sought to preserve DNA evidence they said would still be present on the bodies, saying that once autopsies are finished, the evidence will be "lost forever", according to the motion. "She wasn't here. The kids weren't here". In the interview, he said, "it's like a nightmare that I can't wake up from".
