Samsung has released its new Galaxy Note 9 smartphone at a gala event in the U.S., and the phone is available on pre-order for the UAE now. Users might not have noticed or cared if the Note 8 shipped with the Nougat-based Samsung Experience, but Pie's gesture navigation is something of a game-changer for Android. The company unveiled the Galaxy Note 9 ahead of its schedule after the Galaxy S9 series failed to perform as expected.

The Connected S Pen pairs instantly with its Galaxy Note 9 counterpart, eliminating the need to switch Bluetooth on and off.

The camera in the Note 9 will use artificial intelligence to detect what's in a scene — whether that's food, flowers or a sunset — to automatically tweak images to make them pop.

At this moment, Celcom is accepting pre-order for Galaxy Note 9 under its FIRST postpaid plans which are available in four tiers: FIRST Gold Plus, FIRST Gold Supreme, FIRST Platinum and FIRST Platinum Plus plans. For instance, use Galaxy Note9 and SmartThings to control connected devices, or get more done with Bixby5, a personalized, intelligent assistant. "Spotify is going to be on every Samsung device which plays music", said Daniel Ek, CEO of Spotify who attended the event. And hey, it wasn't Brown after all - it's Metallic Copper!

The new phones will come out August 24. Based on the fact that Samsung hadn't released any betas yet, and hasn't committed to even a vague timeline, Pie likely won't land on the Note 9 until next spring, at which time its thousand-dollar specs are nearly sure to be outdated.
