Kelvin Benjamin and Cam Newton met up publicly and talked ahead of the Bills and Panthers preseason game Thursday. Newton followed Benjamin, but nothing positive seemed to come from their continued dialogue.

Benjamin was a first-round pick by the Panthers in 2014 and played in 40 career games with them, catching 184 passes for 2,424 yards and 19 touchdowns. Any other accurate quarterback like [Aaron] Rodgers or Eli Manning or Big Ben [Roethlisberger] - anybody! - quarterbacks with knowledge, that know how to place a ball and give you a better chance to catch the ball. It just felt like I wasn't in that position.

Newton later waved off Benjamin in apparent frustration before the two parted ways for the remainder of warmups.

Benjamin's comments with The Athletic brought the conflict into the spotlight.

Cam appeared to try to squash the beef in the leadup to Carolina's preseason game with the Bills. but when Newton walked up to the wideout, things took a turn. "So we'll move forward as a team, and I'm hoping we've already done that".

Former Carolina Panther DT Star Lotulelei was welcomed with open arms by Luke Kuechly. "I should've never went to Carolina".

While Benjamin clearly didn't want to talk about the situation, Newton didn't either, literally.
