Singer Ariana Grande's big week on late night continued with an appearance on Thursday's episode of The Tonight Show, but it wasn't amusing like her Late Late Show spots.

While artists like Mariah Carey, Lauryn Hill, and Missy Elliott penned heartfelt tributes, Ariana Grande paid homage to the Queen of Soul with an emotional performance on "The Tonight Show".

Ever since the 25-year-old singer announced that she wrong a song about future husband, everyone has been wondering what she would say and what the song would sound like.

Ariana Grande treated Jimmy Fallon and his audience to a mini-listening party for her just-released album "Sweetener", and talked about her whirlwind romance with Pete Davidson. But she was then asked to sing a song with backing by house band The Roots as a tribute to Franklin.

Before the show, Grande posted a photo of herself and Franklin together.

She also recalled receiving a call from Franklin, who wanted to have her nephew or grandson send her his music.

"I met her a few times", Grande told host Jimmy Fallon before her performance.

The No Tears Left To Cry singer told producers that she was too emotional following her "hero's" death to do it, but was eventually convinced by Questlove to sing with The Roots.

TMZ report that after she finished the song, Ariana left the stage and broke down in tears.
