Aubameyang joined Arsenal in the January transfer window from Borussia Dortmund, where he scored 141 goals in 213 appearances across all competitions in five seasons.

The potential move for Lucas Torreira has been in the pipeline for a month but the midfielder's impressive performances in the World Cup would have made the transfer all the more exciting.

The 30-year-old Greece worldwide became the club's third signing after Stephan Lichtsteiner and Bernd Leno.

The Gunners have already struck a deal with Sampdoria for the player and are waiting for the tournament to end, so he can undergo his medicals and wrap up the deal.

Goal recently revealed that the Gunners will sign Torreira, who has started in Uruguay's last two World Cup games, from Sampdoria once the midfielder's campaign in Russian Federation is over.

While some of his players continue away at the World Cup, Emery cut an animated figure at the club's London Colney base on Thursday as players worked hard to impress.

The midfielder had been one of Argentina's star performers at the World Cup in Russian Federation, helping them into the Round of 16. Lucas Torreira's father told Fox Sports Argentina.

Lucas Torreira's father said that they were many clubs that gave them offers but says that they like which Arsenal gave them because it was better than the others, he also said that they won't back down from their decision and snub a move to the Emirates Stadium because they have given the gunners their word.

"The deal is virtually done and only the arrival of Lucas is remaining".

However, the winger, who's now in Russian Federation representing France at the World Cup is staying put.
