Sanchez misses start of United's USA tour over visa problem

The Manchester United defender showed off how ripped he is two weeks ago, putting any doubts over his physical condition to bed.

Sky Sports revealed that Alexis Sanchez wasn't able to travel with the United squad due to visa issues.

But it has now been confirmed that Sanchez has been given time to resolve a personal administrative issue, and the club are hopeful that he will be free to join them within the next 24 to 48 hours.

Sanchez faced going to trial in Spain over unpaid taxes of around €1 million relating to image rights deals between 2012 and 2013 when he was playing for Barcelona.

Mourinho has found it hard to secure big names signings as they were away representing their nations in the World Cup.

There is a waiver scheme and it is understood Sanchez is working with his lawyers in an effort to be granted access to the United States.

Mourinho said he would give his World Cup players three weeks off at the conclusion of the tournament - meaning many would not have sufficient pre-season training to be ready for the Premier League restart.

Meanwhile, new Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri has spoken of his excitement at facing numerous world's leading managers now that he in charge of a Premier League side.

The 29-year-old signed a new long-term contract at the San Siro after his proposed move to Old Trafford broke down last summer and recently insisted that his focus remains on Inter.

"Chelsea is one of the most important clubs in the most important championship in Europe", Sarri said when speaking to official club app the 5th Stand on Monday.
