The Unpacked event kicks off at 10 a.m. ET and will take place at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NY.

A wide variety of Galaxy Note 9's specifications leaked online earlier this week, shortly after Samsung confirmed its next Android flagship is set to be announced in early August.

It is also expected to have an all-glass back, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

Samsung's popular phablet, the Galaxy Note 8 is now available for Rs. 54,900, down from its original price of Rs. 74,000.

The firm will be hoping to beat Apple, which releases its iPhones in September, by running the event a few weeks earlier.

The Super AMOLED display panel of the Galaxy Note 9 will be yet another curved module that's even brighter than the one found on the previous member of the product family.

Purported benchmarks suggest the Note 9's exact chipset could be a Snapdragon 845 and and Exynos 9180, paired with 6GB of RAM.

The idea here is to turn the phone into the notepad we used to carry around, converging not just the phone, the pocket computer, and the camera, but also the notepad with it. The smartphone facial recognition and has a variable selfie flash which allows users to adjust the exposure while capturing selfies.

A new patent, originally filed in September of past year, was published this week after Samsung asked it to remain private.

Samsung is known to use the Note series as a platform for bigger hardware experiments and potential overhauls, and it won't come as a surprise to see some new additions like the in-display fingerprint scanner. Battery issues caused units to spontaneously explode.

Samsung should be congratulated for providing this update - not many phones that are over two years old will receive updates like this. The device has been rumored to feature a 6.4-inch Infinity display without any notch at the top. Samsung's Galaxy Note 9 event will be one of the most important launches for the company in the second half of the year.
