Baron Cohen successfully lampooned a host of prominent figures in American politics, including former Democratic presidential hopefuls Bernie Sanders and Howard Dean.

Sarah Palin criticized Sacha Baron Cohen and Showtime Tuesday on Facebook for their new prank TV series, Who Is America?

Firing back: Sarah Palin (above on GMA Friday) said Sacha Baron Cohen mocked disabled veterans and middle-class Americans when he interviewed her in November for 'Who Is America?'

"It just got worse and worse and worse as the minutes went on in this weird, really humiliating interview", Palin added.

"I did NOT say I was a War Vet. I was in the service-not military, but United Parcel and I only fought for my country once-when I shot a Mexican who came onto my property", Riddick wrote.

Conservative pundit and ex-congressman Joe Walsh has revealed on Twitter that he was also duped into an interview with Cohen for the show after being told that Steven Spielberg and Rupert Murdoch also took part.

"Palin said that she was offered a "'legit opportunity" to honour American Vets and contribute to a "legit Showtime historical documentary'" and that it "was requested of me via a speakers bureau".

She slammed the act as "evil" and "sick," and added that she "literally, physically removed" her mic and walked out of the interview. "Obviously, people like Cohen who mock not only Israel but those who support Israel and the principles upon which America is based, do not share my beliefs".

Sacha Baron Cohen really fooled some big names in right-wing politics while shooting his new show. "But see CBS and Showtime, they're going to be pimping this thing hard, so they're going to hear about it, anyway". "He thinks this kind of stuff is amusing, and mocking the disabled and mocking and belittling our vets with his portrayal, in my book, it's not amusing".

"You read a line like that and, you know, man, this guy, he just doesn't quit", Palin said, referring to the line about bone spurs in Baron Cohen's character's rebuttal. "As an American, I would never hide my identity and deceive others only to mock and ridicule them as this Showtime series is created to do".
