As the cast and crew of Nightflyers descend on San Diego Comic-Con 2018 to give a sneak peek of their highly anticipated new series, SYFY WIRE has an exclusive behind the scenes clip of the Game of Thrones mastermind's latest television offering. Netflix is co-producing and has the first-run rights to the series outside of the U.S. Nightflyers will arrive on SYFY this fall in the USA and on Netflix worldwide.

Much like the previous trailer, this new look at the show reveals that, unlike the goofy 1987 movie adaptation of this story, there's no camp at all on display this time around.

Daniel Cerone (The Blacklist), the original showrunner of Nightflyers, has left the project, and producer Jeff Buhler (Jacob's Ladder), who wrote the series, has taken over.

Nightflyers will launch on Netflix outside of the USA in 2019. "But of course, I wish [Robert] Jaffe [another producer on the show] and Buhler and their team the best of luck".

Nightflyers, premiering this fall on Syfy, takes place hundreds of years in the future when humans have colonized the solar system.

Martin has participated in at least one behind-the-scenes interview where he describes Nightflyers as a "haunted house story on a starship" and "Psycho in space".

Nightflyers, which will be aired on Syfy in the United States, will launch on Netflix outside of the U.S. in 2019. The series stars Gretchen Mol, Eoin Macken, David Ajala, Jodie Turner-Smith, and Angus Sampson, who all showed up for the SDCC panel. It's unclear when the show will debut on Netflix.
