He's coming off a season in which he played in 15 games for the Cavaliers and in 17 games with the Lakers.

Free agent point guard Isaiah Thomas has reached a one-year, $2 million deal with the Denver Nuggets, according to multiple reports. Thomas is a proven scorer who could thrive in Denver's offense. Thomas was in MVP contention in his final campaign with Boston, but things went downhill when he injured his hip.

Thomas has been working his way back from a procedure on his hip and if he rebounds on the court this season, he could provide a strong option for the Nuggets while reestablishing his value before becoming a free agent again. He was shipped to the Los Angeles Lakers, where he backed up Lonzo Ball, averaging 15.6 points.

For Thomas, this is unfortunate timing as he was one of the best players in the league at one point.

There are still injury concerns, but the Nuggets feel comfortable taking this risk.

It's with the Nuggets that Thomas will be reunited with ex-Sacramento head coach Mike Malone, and part of a Denver squad that finished with 46 wins a season ago (but finished in ninth place in the Western Conference for the second year in a row).
