Man City closing in on £60m signing of RIyad Mahrez

Riyad Mahrez is all set to complete his transfer move to Manchester City later this week.

But now, somewhat scarily, their firepower up-front has seemingly strengthened, with Foxes' star Mahrez on his way to east Manchester, for a fee thought to be around £60 million, some £20 million off Leicester's initial asking price.

Rob Tanner, a journalist with the Leicester Mercury and offer of of the official book to commemorate the Foxes' title success two years ago, expected Mahrez to go.

He has been given extra time off by the Foxes after playing in Algeria's worldwide games in June and is due back for training next week.

Leicester have allowed him extra time off since Mahrez - who has made 179 appearances for them, scoring 48 times - went off on global duty with his country last month.

And Mahrez did not take the rejection well refusing to play or train for some time and even scooped up fines fined for his boycott.

The 27-year-old is expected to undergo a medical in the coming days, with all major aspects of the deal agreed between the two clubs.

The Spaniard is plotting a £65 million swoop for the winger after narrowly missing out on the Algerian global in the January transfer window. If Leicester does sell Mahrez for the reported 65 million, they will make a huge profit on his 500.000 transfer from Le Havre back in 2014.
