More details on the Light phone are not now available. It's truly pocketable. Yet in the end, consumers want the convenience of a phone with the power of a dedicated camera. But still, expect this smartphone to be priced well above the $1,00 mark.

Given that every now and then, a Smartphone with smarter technology is launched at different corners of the world there is still a wide scope of improvements in it. Dropping the lens count to something like nine might help reduce costs, but not by much.

Something to look forward to: Back in October 2015, camera company Light introduced the L16, a "multi-aperture computational camera" that featured an array of 16 lenses to produce DSLR-quality images. In any case, the idea of a phone that can take 64-megapixel shots is astonishing, and should no doubt make all smartphone enthusiasts pretty excited.

Even LG is experimenting to pack 5 cameras on the upcoming flagship model, V40 reports Android Police. This camera is able to simultaneously capture images from all the lenses and software to combine them into a single image with a resolution of 52 Megapixels.
