‘Impeach 45’ clothing sparks Walmart boycott campaign

Outcry after "Impeach 45" apparel appears on Walmart website.

Walmart's third-party marketplace, which has millions of items available from various independent sellers, also has "Make America Great Again" merchandise - showing how diverse the site can be at any given time.

CBS News reports Walmart says the "Impeach 45" items were sold by third-party sellers on its open marketplace and "were not offered directly by Walmart".

The shirts, seemingly discovered by the chairman of the group Students for Trump, are one of a number of "Impeach 45" offerings, which range from sweatshirts to baby clothes from a wide variety of manufacturers.

Apparel sold on Walmart's website sparks outrage for its sentiment against President Trump. Angered patrons have vowed to reject the retailer, as the #BoycottWalmart movement begins to gain traction on social media.

A Walmart spokeswoman did not return a request for comment.

It's not the first time Walmart has caused a stir.

Walmart came under fire for another incident last November when customers noticed a shirts that read, "Rope. Tree. Journalist. SOME ASSEMBLY REQUIRED" was listed on its website through an outside company.

Old Glory is one of the companies selling the clothing with "Impeach 45" printed across the front of the shirts.

On June 27, Walmart announced that it was introducing a 3D virtual shopping tour on its website, as the retailer pours billions of dollars into beefing up its e-commerce business.
