Father Demands Capital Punishment For Accused In Mandsaur Rape Case

I don't want any compensation, I just want the accused to be hanged, said the father of the eight-year-old girl who was allegedly gang-raped in Mandsaur, Madhya Pradesh.

The SIT will be headed by City Superintendent of Police (CSP) Rakesh Mohan Shukla and will also include a legal adviser.

One of the accused involved in the gangrape incident was arrested on Wednesday while the second suspect, girl's uncle, was arrested on Saturday.

As per the doctors the girl is conscious and talking to her parents.

She was gang raped, her throat was slit and left to die.

The girl, who is in a hospital after the incident, is now recovering, and doctors said she is out of danger, The Indian Express reported.

Asked about the state government's decision to extend a financial assistance worth Rs 10 lakh to his family, he said, "Money is not an issue".

A bureaucrat and two police officers who were suspended following five deaths and violence during farmers' agitation in Mandsaur, Madhya Pradesh, in June previous year, were reinstated by the state government on Saturday.

In another development, Congress MP from Guna Jyotiraditya Scindia on Saturday demanded to hand over the Mandsaur case to the CBI for probe saying that he was not satisfied with the casual manner the police was conducting investigation into the case.

The government said that Rs 5 lakh has been transferred to the girl's father account.

The police subsequently arrested the two accused - Irfan alias Bhaiyu (20) and Asif (24) - and booked them under the relevant sections of the IPC and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.

In Mandsaur, the girl was waiting to be picked up from school by her parents, who were running late, police said. "As a nation, we must come together to protect our children and bring the attackers to speedy justice".
