World Cup fever is gripping the country as the Three Lions defied expectations to go their furtherest in the tournament since 1990. I think they're playing brilliantly.

Croatia beat Russian Federation in penalties and proceeded to a semi-final encounter against England on Thursday.

"There's an endless stream of messages on WhatsApp and Instagram and no way to tell everyone, "Thank you for the kind words", he wrote on his official Instagram page.

Former England players shared their thoughts on the current team and focused on the future.

They booked their place in the final by seeing off England 2-1 after extra time, making light of the fact that the Three Lions hail from a land with a population of around 53 million.

England got off to a hot start in its World Cup semifinal match against Croatia on Wednesday.

"I don't know what will happen if we win, probably nobody will go to work". "We have two matches to play and we are very motivated".

The Croatians looked more comfortable from the spot, netting four of their five attempts with midfielder Ivan Rakitic firing home the decisive effort to put them into the semifinals, prompting tears from Croatia coach Zlatko Dalic.

Croatia have sacked one of their coaching staff, Ognjen Vukojevic after he posted a pro-Ukraine video following the penalty shootout win over Russian Federation in the World Cup quarter-finals.

Ahead of the England vs Croatia semi-final there have been 158 goals scored, which is an average of 2.59 goals per match.

Croatia have multiple injury concerns heading into Wednesday's clash in Moscow, with right-back Sime Vrsaljko the main worry due to a knee injury, while goalkeeper Danijel Subasic was also hurt against Russian Federation in the quarter-finals. I asked him and he said he was OK, it did not affect him much.

He also said that he would be flying to Russian Federation to watch the final, adding: "I'm just waiting on my visa".

Belgium and France make up the other semi-final, to be played on Tuesday.

The only problem is, football matches are usually won with the team dictating midfield, and you'd have to take France's midfield over Belgium's.
