The country, of only four million people, is hoping to win the biggest title in worldwide soccer.

Didier Deschamps could become only the third man in the history of the World Cup - after Mario Zagallo and Franz Beckenbauer - to lift the trophy as a player and coach.

Kylian Mbappe and Antoine Griezmann support Olivier Giroud in attack in France's 4-2-3-1 formation, while Ivan Perisic and Ivan Strinic, who had been pre-match injury doubts, have been passed fit for Croatia.

BS: They're never very quotable but there definitely was an obvious theme that emerged from the contrast between the two.

A month after the World Cup group stage kicked off with a blowout win by Russian Federation, only two teams are left standing. Deschamps said the other day that finals are there to win.

We talk to four of them, two Croatia fans and two French fans, in a mutually respectful debate about who's going to win tomorrow's big match. We will face a high-quality opponent and they deserve as much credit as we do.

Dalic will go with his' golden generation' as they're nearly at the end of their worldwide careers, while Deschamps will put faith in his young squad to get them over the line.

"It's true that Croatia has a strong team with good players.but they are exhausted, they have had three matches with extra time, two penalty shoot-outs", said Alexandre Guillard.

"The tears have dried from Euro 2016 but it's still there in a little corner of people's minds", midfielder Blaise Matuidi said at the team base in Istra on Friday.

"Tomorrow is the World Cup final". But I have no star either although there is one on my shirt. But if they will be unable to give their all, they will tell us. They have (Mario) Mandzukic, (Ivan) Rakitic and (Ivan) Perisic.

"Now, there is no pressure", Dalic said.

"I hope we will overcome those today and that all my players will be ready to play in the final. If not, I have great players on the bench who will be raring to go".

11 AM ET, France will take on surprise finalist Croatia in the 2018 FIFA World Cup Final to bring the event to a close. France enters the contest as firm favorite as it seeks to win its first world championship since 1998.

Despite failing to add to his tally of six goals in the third-place play-off defeat to Belgium, captain Harry Kane is in a strong position to be awarded the top scorer's Golden Boot.

In the shootout, Modric redeemed himself, converting his spot kick, but it was goalkeeper Danijel Subasic who was the hero, becoming only the second goalkeeper to save three penalties in a shootout at the World Cup to earn his side victory.
