While it was an incredible World Cup for everyone watching, it was most successful for Vladimir Putin.

While Stuart Henderson tweeted: "What is Conor 'gangsta" McGregor playing at?' But, there's still a delay because of Conor's trial. At that time, McGregor, apparently upset because Nurmagomedov had been involved in an altercation with a member of his camp, attacked a bus transporting the Russian and several other UFC fighters and staffers away from the arena ahead of UFC 223.

The fighter - due in court in NY later this month in relation to an attack on a bus in April - revealed he was invited as a guest of Putin.

Earlier on Sunday, McGregor hinted that a fight with Nurmagomedov was moving closer when he tweeted a video of himself in a auto with the caption, 'My Russian compound is taking shape'.

On a related note, McGregor hasn't fought in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) since winning the 155-pound title in November 2016 by knocking out Eddie Alvarez.
