Call for clarity on EU oil workers' status following Brexit white paper

The band of the Coldstream Guards played the Star-Spangled Banner and she invited the president to inspect the guard of honour. Just days after lobbing thunderous broadsides at his British hosts, Trump was on his best behaviour as he capped his two-day visit to the United Kingdom by dropping by Windsor Castle for tea with the Queen. Johnson said the agreement was "suffocating" the Brexit dream.

It also came just days after Mrs May said she believed she would be implementing plans for a new trade deal with the United States during his visit.

Following talks with the Prime Minister at Chequers, Mr Trump revealed he apologised to Mrs May over his interview with the Sun, in which he claimed he would have carried out Brexit negotiations "much differently" and said the Prime Minister had ignored "advice" he offered her.

May sidestepped a reporter's question about whether she felt undermined by Trump's reported comments on her Brexit plan.

Asked about the former foreign secretary at Chequers yesterday, Mr Trump said: "He's been very nice to me". (Until) I remember her desperate rush to invite him, her repeated reluctance to criticise his Muslim ban or caging of children, her chasing him for a bad trade deal.

In retrospect, British Prime Minister Theresa May might wonder whether this was really the best week for a visit from Donald Trump. "I'd like to see them be able to work it out so it could go quickly, whatever they work out". Late past year, May criticised him for retweeting a message by a member of a British far-right group and the speaker of Britain's parliament has said Trump would not be welcome to address it.

"If they do that, then their trade deal with the US will probably not be made".

"Many people are delighted", said Trump. May looked toward him after he declined to answer.

For May, it comes at a time when she is already politically weakened following a string of resignations from her Cabinet.

Mr Trump and his wife, Melania, later had tea with the Queen at Windsor. "He is thankful for the wonderful welcome from the Prime Minister here in the U.K". The Royal Hospital is not actually a hospital, but a home for retired soldiers, known as the Chelsea Pensioners. She could say that "he and I do disagree on some things: His tearing of babies from their parents, his racist attacks on the London mayor, his lies, his admiration for dictators, and I tend to think his combover is an absurdity".

The Prime Minister said the United States is "keen" to do a deal with the UK.

DeLay called the meeting between Trump and May a success, despite a report in The Sun newspaper ran headlined, "Trump's Brexit Blast: Donald Trump told Theresa May how to do Brexit "but she wrecked it" - and says the USA trade deal is off".

"I think people are incensed at the way in which the European Union has behaved so arrogantly and basically shown that their long-term agenda is to be our masters rather than our servants".
