Brock Lesnar and Daniel Cormier get into scuffle at UFC 226

Saturday, July 7, at UFC 226, Cormier has an opportunity to take a big step toward that distinction if he can get past heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic to become only the second ever simultaneous two-division champion in UFC history.

Lesnar took a front row seat at T-Mobile Arena next to UFC president Dana White prior to the championship fight between Miocic and Cormier. The finish came at the 4:33 mark after Miocic - the longest-reigning champion in UFC heavyweight history - crumpled from the shot.

Cormier, the light heavyweight champion, is moving up to challenge the heavyweight champ for the possibility of following in the footsteps of Conor McGregor as the only fighters to simultaneously hold UFC belts in two weight classes. Cormier and Miocic stood toe-to-toe and traded hands throughout.

Even former middleweight champion Michael Bisping and multi-time title contender Kenny Florian, who will be working as analysts on FS1 during UFC 226, have differing opinions on how this main event will play out on Saturday night.

Lesnar has been with WWE for a while, his appearance sparks more rumors of a possible return to the UFC. "But everybody's strong. Push me now, you go to sleep later". He's a former UFC champion.

"It's very hard for me to say that cause I think the world of Daniel Cormier, I really do".

Bisping said when speaking about Cormier's wrestling. That's only a 10 lbs. difference, considerably less than the 40 lbs. of extra weight that Miocic carries when compared to Volkan Oezdemir, Cormier's last opponent at light-heavyweight.

He'll have to face a remarkable fighter in Cormier, who was a heavyweight amateur wrestler before his late-starting MMA career. He has successfully defended the heavyweight strap in three consecutive bouts.

This time around the story is that Holloway has been experiencing concussion-like symptoms and it comes after he opted out due to a leg injury in a scheduled title defense against Frankie Edgar at UFC 222.

Earlier, unbeaten Brazilian middleweight Paulo Costa stopped Uriah Hall in the second round of a jaw-dropping slugfest between two of the sport's hardest punchers. I also think just mixing in the takedown and just having that threat of the takedown, can shut down a fighter's offense.
