British royal family releases official photos of Prince Louis' christening

The garment is a handmade replica of the 1841 Royal Christening robe worn by more than 62 royal babies at their christenings - including those of Prince Louis' grandfather, father and uncle.

The informal shot comes from William and Kate's private photographs of the family celebration, but they liked it so much they made a decision to release it.

The little princess is staring lovingly at Prince Louis and, not only that, she's holding his hand as well! She topped things off with a blue bow-embellished headband.

The official images show him surrounded by his immediate family in touching photographs released to mark his christening.

As a babyhood picture of Kate taken in 1982 shows, Louis bears a striking resemblance to her. Prince George, 3-year-old Princess Charlotte, Kate's parents Michael and Carole, her brother James and sister Pippa were also in attendance.

The photos were taken July 9 in the Morning Room and garden of Clarence House.

He was asked by William and Kate to take some private shots for their personal family album, in addition to the "historic" formal portraits captured by official photographer Mr Holyoak. Standing left to right: the Duchess of Cornwall, the Prince of Wales, the Duke of Sussex and the Duchess of Sussex. Moreover, back in the public eye after giving birth three months ago was Kate Middleton, who was glowing as her son snoozed in her arms. Front row: Prince George, Prince William, Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, Prince Louis, Princess Charlotte.

The first pictures of Prince Louis' christening were released on Sunday, 15 July.

The duchess added, with a smile: "I hope he stays like this".

Duchess Meghan chose an olive Ralph Lauren dress and a hat by Stephen Jones for the christening, which was her first as a member of the royal family.
