After ‘Mamma Mia!’, Cher to release album of Abba covers

Here We Go Again, the highly anticipated sequel to 2008's ABBA-filled movie-musical, is just days away from hitting theaters.

"Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again" marks Cher's return to the silver screen after seven years. Oh, keep an eye out for Cher's forthcoming album of ABBA covers (!) in September, too.

"The critics could have a good old field day with us, but I think at the end of the day the people are going to enjoy it even more then the last one", he said. And while Cher plays Streep's mother in the Mamma Mia! movie (and grandmother to Amanda Seyfried's character), the two are actually only a few years apart in age in real life. "It was so much fun to see her".

Streep also sings on ensemble number Super Trouper in the film, and she also appears on the digital version of the soundtrack singing The Day Before You Came - but it's unclear if this is actually in the movie.

Speaking with TODAY about the movie (via Rolling Stone), Cher revealed that she enjoyed singing the classic disco pop music so much that she chose to put he own touch on more of the material. "It's not what you would think of when you think of ABBA, 'cause I did it in a different way". Here We Go Again with ex Dominic Cooper, has explained that they actually do mind.
