Scott Pruitt is a parasite you can get for free with a full tank of gas.

This week, we learned EPA Administrator Scott Pruitt had a staffer contact the president of Chick-fil-A to try to land his wife, Marlyn, a franchise deal.

When The Atlantic's Elaina Plott reached out for comment from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) - you know, the government organization Pruitt is running like his own personal bingo hall - EPA spokesperson Jahan Wilcox told Plott, "You have a great day, you're a piece of trash".

She spearheaded his apartment search when his lobbyist landlords soured on his continued presence in their Capitol Hill condo; booked his personal travel; and inquired with President Donald Trump's DC hotel - located across the street from EPA - about purchasing a used mattress Pruitt had heard was available.

Whether he will or won't respond with another invective is anyone's guess, but it seems fair to assume that no one in the press should expect a Christmas card this year from the EPA. The reporter posted the video on Twitter. And on Tuesday, the Post reported that Pruitt had an EPA staffer set up a meeting to help his wife secure a Chick-fil-A franchise. Meanwhile, Trump praised Pruitt on Wednesday during a briefing on hurricane preparedness at the Federal Emergency Management Agency's headquarters. But don't worry, it's all a part of the changes that the administration is making, according to Pruitt: "There's significant changes happening across, not only at the EPA, but across this administration and it's needed". "Somebody has to say that about you a little bit, you know that, Scott". The focus of almost a dozen federal inquiries into his travel expenses, security practices and other issues, Pruitt was on the Hill to testify about his agency's FY2019 budget proposal.

Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-South Carolina, said that while he wasn't sure if all the stories about Pruitt are true, the policies he's championed are well-liked by Republicans.

Greenwalt, who also served as counsel to Pruitt in his previous position as Oklahoma's attorney general, was in the news most recently when Pruitt rescinded a hefty raise for her after public criticism of his use of a little-known clause in the Safe Drinking Water Act to come up with the money.

The EPA chief is the subject of several investigations into alleged ethical lapses.
