"Race 3" made Rs 38.14 crore and Rs 39.16 crore on Saturday and Sunday, respectively. It now stands with the grand total of Rs 193.41 crore at the worldwide box office.

The Salman Khan box office charm shows no sign of fading. In a feat of sorts, the film has collected Rs 33 crore apprx in Mumbai alone and Rs 21 crore in Delhi. Race 3 zoomed past the opening day collections of big-hitters like Baaghi 2, Padmaavat, Veere Di Wedding and PadMan.

"Race 3's thunderous opening also proves that Salman is nearly (due to "Tubelight" and "Jai Ho") 'critic-proof" at the box office.

In fact, to put his star power in perspective one must note that apart from Race 3, three of Salman Khan's movies - Sultan, Bajrangi Bhaijaan and Tiger Zinda Hai - raked in more than Rs 100 crore in only three days.

The result? "Race 3" has hit the three-figure mark at the box office in the opening weekend itself. The film that released in 5,000 screens globally, is also doing well overseas including the Middle East, Australia and New Zealand. So how did his film perform at the Chennai Box Office? As with his other Eid blockbusters like Kick, Dabangg and Bodyguard, the Khan fans seem to have poured in regardless of what critics have to say.

There are fewer iconic duos than Salman Khan and Eid. "It's like the film is part of people's celebrations and they come in hordes even if the reviews don't match expectations".

Mr Adarsh also posted about Race 3's crucial Monday test. Race 3, which released on around 4200 cinemas in India, has also become Salman's second highest weekend opener in the last eight years - Sultan earned Rs 180.36 crore in three days of the release.

"With Tubelight, it was probably a case of wrong timing". But this time, the film will not be posting some big totals like 300 or 400 crores. Race 3 is about a feud within a family of notorious arms dealers.
