Standing at over six feet, the left-arm quick bowler has claimed 18 wickets from five domestic matches at the U-19 level including a five-wicket haul. Tendulakr has been steadfast with his dedication towards improving his son's cricketing skills. Arjun has trained under former India fast bowler Subroto Banerjee. Two India U-19 squads were announced on Thursday in Bengaluru with Anuj Rawat and Aryan Juyal leading the side. He is also a regular net bowler for the Indian team, whenever they play in Mumbai and also bowled to the India women's team ahead of their World Cup final against England at Lord's a year ago. The 18-year-old, who has made his presence felt on the field by often tagging along and practising with his ingenious father, is now part of a squad that will play two four-day matches in July. He also bowled in the nets in the lead-up to the Lord's Test between England and South Africa in 2017, sending Jonny Bairstow off with an injury scare when he struck him on the toe with a yorker. He runs, and delivers the ball with a weird action. Thanks to his father's recommendations, he is now part of the U-19 squad- and hundreds of more talented bowlers get ignored.

"After Bollywood, Nepotism spreads its wings in sports too #Arjuntendulkar", another user, Nandhita Ghoshal, wrote. He was part of a group of 25 U-19 cricketers who were in Dharamsala in April this year for a month-long camp. What a India yaar....

The news called for celebrations in the Tendulkar household with Arjun's legendary father expressing his happiness regarding his son's inclusion in the U-19 squad and said it's a big step forward.

However, there were plenty, who congratulated Arjun addressing him as 'Son of God of Cricket.' This was in reference to Tendulkar's nickname as the God of Cricket. The Indian fans will be thrilled to watch him though and will somehow try to find the shades of Sachin's batting in his technique whenever he will stride out to bat on the 22 yards. Another user Pradeep Kumar S tweeted, " let's give him a chance before concluding that he is in the team because of Sachin Tendulkar".

India U-19 squad for one-days: Aryan Juyal (C) (WK), Anuj Rawat, Devdutt Padikkal, Atharva Taide, Yash Rathod, Ayush Badoni, Sameer Choudhary, Siddharth Desai, Harsh Tyagi, YD Mangwani, Ajay Devgaud, Y Jaiswal, Mohit Jangra, Akash Pande, Pawan Shah.
