PlayerUnknown Responds to Battlefield V’s Battle Royale Announcement

More information about Battlefield 5 and its new multiplayer mode will come out during Xbox's press conference Sunday.

In a post on the official Battlefield V Twitter, the team said: "Royale is coming to #Battlefield V, reimagined with the core pillars of destruction, team play, and vehicles".

Battlefield V bring the series back to World War Two and, dear God, has playable women. The developers also discussed how Battlefield V will feature more innovation, more impactful mechanics, and more freedom to customize your characters than ever before.

EA Play kicked off today with a new trailer for Battlefield V's mutliplayer.

Oskar Gabrielson, general manager of game developer DICE, had to address the backlash against Battlefield V over the inclusion of female soldiers when the sequel was first revealed. Players will have the ability to dive and smash through windows and move around heavy turrets from their fixed position. Few details were revealed about the new mode of play, but more will be revealed at a later date.

The popular game dev took to Twitter to welcome the "old friend" to the Battle Royale business, in all caps, with a "less than three" heart capped at the end.

Also during our interview, we quizzed Gustavvson about Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 adding its own battle royale mode called Blackout.

The latest installment of the franchise will drop on October 19 for PC, XBox One, and PlayStation 4.
