Neymar played the full 90 minutes of Brazil's stalemate with Switzerland, however, he lasted just 15 minutes of their training session on Tuesday before leaving alongside a physio.

Lasmar said on Tuesday that Neymar, who was fouled 10 times in the draw, was expected to return to training on Wednesday in preparation for the Group E game against Costa Rica in St. Petersburg on Friday.

Neymar left the Rostov Arena limping but told media that there was nothing to worry about, and his appearance in training appeared to allay any fears that he had suffered yet another heartbreaking injury at a World Cup following his 2014 anguish.

Neymar received a lot of criticism for being excessively greedy and selfish during Brazil's opener against Switzerland. He limped as he walked away from the field toward the dressing room, accompanied by a team doctor.

Brazil's squad will be considered failures should they not claim their sixth World Cup title in Russian Federation, according to the legendary Rivaldo.

Neymar skipped training on Monday, according to ESPN.

However, Coutinho insists Neymar remains the key figure in Brazil's pursuit of World Cup glory.

"Because of the number of fouls he suffered in the last match his ankle is a little painful, but he will train normally tomorrow". We need to take responsibility and our heads have to be in the right place. "We have seen footage of Costa Rica although the important thing is to play our football". Brazil have a good team and collective quality to get themselves out of problems but Neymar tried to win the game on his own and he failed.

"Neymar injured??? No chance for Brazil to win now", one fan wrote.
