New Spider-Man Gameplay Trailer Brings the Baddies

Sony was content with letting the trailer speak for itself, giving it little in the way of introduction and saying nothing about the game afterward. We also get a look at how Spider-Man will fight the many goons he'll encounter.

That's what Ghost of Tsushima captures, in the very best way, based on an in-depth trailer shown at Sony's PlayStation press conference at E3. In one of the side activities shown, we see Spidey taking on waves of Kingpin's henchmen on a rooftop, and what's interesting is that several enemies are left to fall to their doom.

The trailer showed off a demo from the ninth day of the Mongol Invasion of Japan, and kicked off with the protagonist Jin wandering the gorgeous Japanese countryside. While it's unlikely that we'll see a PS4 price cut, we should see a host of games that will be out soon and others that will release in the years to come.

That said, Sony and co. weren't finished showing off the game, in fact they were nowhere near finished. Feel the full power of a more experienced Spider-Man with improvisational combat, dynamic acrobatics, fluid urban traversal, and environmental interactions. I look forward to losing a ton of hours swinging through New York City (and fighting my way through the game's rogues gallery of villains) when it hits PS4 on September 7. The villains that have been revealed so far are quite plentiful too, which include Electro, Vulture, Rhino, Scorpion, and Mister Negative. The game was first announced in 2016, and we've been patiently waiting for it ever since. Our guess is on Doctor Octopus or the Green Goblin.

What did you think about the new trailer?

The biggest takeaway here is the fluid movements that allow Spider-Man to replicate many of his most impressive moves from the comics.
