Former Manchester City striker Shaun Goater believes the club's trip to Arsenal on the opening day of the 2018/19 Premier League season is "really important", as the bid to defend their Premier League title begins.

The rest of the 2018/19 Premier League fixtures can be viewed on the league's official website.

They finished 25 points behind champions Manchester City in 2017-18, and while the Sky Blues enjoyed a record-breaking campaign, Liverpool's points tally of 75 would only have been good enough for fifth the season before.

Manchester United starts at home to Leicester and plays only one of last season's top six, Tottenham, in its first eight games.

The Bluebirds travel to Bournemouth, the Whites welcome London rivals Crystal Palace and Nuno's runaway Championship winners face Everton at Molineux.

Mourinho reportedly "has been left angered" by the preferential treatment given to Liverpool in the Premier League fixture list.

However, the Reds are still some way from being a Premier League-winning outfit.

Chelsea will be pleased with the opening run of fixtures, with only Arsenal and Liverpool featuring from the top six clubs.

Chelsea, who remain in a state of flux with question marks over their owner, manager and star players, have been handed a low-key start to the season, aside from the early meeting with Arsenal.

By contrast, only United's first three Champions League games will be followed by a home match in the Premier League, against Wolves, Newcastle and Everton.

Four rounds of Premier League fixtures are scheduled before the first global break, which is on the weekend of 8-9 September.

We'll face familiar foes as the three promoted sides make their return to Premier League action.
