"Incredibles 2" brought in 51.5 million dollars internationally this weekend, pushing its world cume to 231.5 million dollars through Sunday.

If you haven't watched The Incredibles 2, I urge you to do so - it's an awesome film, and better than the original (which is hard these days, but seemingly not so hard for animated/CGI movies).

On Friday, Walt Disney Pictures sent an advisory to theaters showing Incredibles 2, asking them flag customers to the scene.

That record belonged to another Pixar film, "Finding Dory", which opened to roughly $135 million two summers ago. Brad Bird returned to write and direct the sequel, which has been overwhelmingly well-received by both critics and audiences.

"You don't get to this level of opening without appealing to everyone whether you're a fan of animation, superheroes or just out to have a good time and want to see a good movie", said Cathleen Taff, the head of distribution for Walt Disney Studios. It also gives Disney the three biggest openings of the year so far with Avengers: Infinity War ($257.7 million), Black Panther ($202 million), and Incredibles 2.

The films still couldn't surpass the "Ocean's 8" second weekend which closed out with $19.5 million for the second biggest grab this weekend. Domestically the film easily knocked out contenders like "Tag" and "Superfly", which clocked in $14.6 million and $8.4 million respectively.

"Gotti", which premiered at the Cannes Film Festival, debuts at 503 locations this weekend and was tracking for about $1.7 million from Vertical Entertainment, Sunrider, and MoviePass. Final domestic figures will be released Monday.
