Jose Mourinho has predicted which teams will make the last 16 of the World Cup - and it's good news for England fans.

Fred has played 156 times for Shakhtar since joining them from Brazilian side Internacional in 2013, and has appeared in the UEFA Champions League regularly.

The 25-year-old Seleção has signed a five-year contract last Monday at the club's London office.

Winger Douglas Costa trained with the rest of the team for the first time since World Cup preparations began two weeks ago.

With the signing of Fred all but confirmed, Manchester United are off to a very positive start with regards to their summer transfer dealings.

Neymar will hope Fred's move to United will boost the player's morale, and help him shine in the upcoming 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russian Federation.

Fred should improve United's runner-up squad as they look to close the gap to Premier League champions City and aim to win the title next term.

While Fred is frequently compared to Manchester City's Fernandinho - due to his nationality, position and career path thus far - perhaps Tottenham's Mousa Dembele is a better, more accurate comparison. Michael Carrick's retirement has only heightened the need for another commanding midfield presence.

"I think France, no problems, will finish first", Mourinho said.

Juan Mata cost United £40.26 million (R690.86 million) in 2013, while midfielder Nemanja Matic cost the club £40.23 million (R690.34 million) past year.

"He is a wonderful player", the Betfair ambassador said.
