France travel to the World Cup on the back of a surprising 1-1 draw with the U.S. in Lyon on Saturday night, but Griezmann reckons there's no need for his teammates to panic, and says their preparation for Australia starts now.

Griezmann was close to closing a move to Barça after months of talks once his release clause dropped to 100 million euros on July 1.

"The World Cup for France starts on Saturday, there is still time".

Lemar's potential transfer could have major implications for the future of compatriot Antoine Griezmann, who has been heavily linked with a move from Atletico Madrid to Barcelona. "In Spain some say that I stay at Atlético, others I leave and I'll say it before the first game begins".

"Today is not the day to talk about my future", he said at a press conference on Tuesday.

However, Griezmann disappointed plenty of football fans by saying: "I am very sorry, but today I am not going to give my decision". However, Atletico responded with a counter-offer which will make him the club's best paid player by some distance.

They claim that Griezmann has chose to join Barcelona. "There is still one more week [until the World Cup starts], but I think we will know during the week".

After facing the USA on Saturday in Lyon, France are due to fly to their training base near Moscow on Sunday.

"I can only say that to win the Champions League you have to have the best players".
