The rapper had allegedly forgotten his key but the security guard would not let him into the gated neighborhood, which resulted in an argument. He says the guard eventually called the police, but says the law enforcement near his home are "white cops in a very white area", and he was promptly arrested. According to police, T.I.'s friend, 40-year-old Marquinarius Holmes, was arrested on outstanding charges out of Clayton County for not having proof of vehicle insurance.

Wednesday after he bailed out, T.I. was able to spend some time with his family and celebrate his son Major's 10th birthday. The guard says the rapper was yelling profanity at him and behaving badly.

After T.I. parked his auto at his home, he walked back to try to get James' name, the report said. Sadow said the guard refused to allow T.I. entry, even after the rapper contacted his wife, Xscape member Tameka "Tiny" Cottle, who confirmed her husband's identity.

Harris reportedly told the office that when he pulled up to the guard house he saw the security guard asleep.

Since his release, T.I. has addressed the issue in an Instagram livestream in which he referred to the arrest as "nonsense" and "small potatoes".

T.I.'s attorney, Steve Sadow, referred to him as "Tip" in a statement to WSB-TV.

T.I. was arrested on misdemeanor charges of simple assault, disorderly conduct and public drunkenness.

His friend, Marquinarius Holmes, 40, of Stockbridge, was arrested on outstanding charges out of Clayton County and for not having proof of auto insurance, the sheriff's office told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

"The guard continued to refuse entry without justification", the lawyer's statement said.

According to Tip, his arrest is ultimately a result of calling out his gated community's security guard for sleeping on the job. James said T.I. threatened him and said "come outside so we can deal with this man to man". "When the police arrived, they were not interested in hearing Tip's side of the story and wrongfully chose to end the situation by arresting Tip". He says he demanded the guard's name, but the guy refused.
