According to a tweet from Blizzard, Overwatch's Anniversary Event returns yet again this year and is running from May 22nd until June 11th. Blizzard has announced that it will not only be bringing back all previously seasonal brawls for Arcade mode, but also release all event specific cosmetic items.

If you don't already own Overwatch, you'll be able to play for from from May 25th to May 28th on PlayStation 4, XBox One and PC. You will find all these special items via loot boxes that you'll get for each login. That also helps keep Overwatch relevant as Blizzard continues to promote its major esports project, the Overwatch League.

If you've missed out on Overwatch over the past two years, a free weekend will be taking place a few days after the latest event gets underway.

When Overwatch celebrated their first anniversary, they added new maps and 11 legendary skins which cost slightly higher than regular legendary skins. Blizzard confirmed that a new Competitive Mode will be coming to Deathmatch that includes placement matches, skill rating tiers, and leaderboards.

Once you're done replaying the above Junkrat and Roadhog dance-off in a hypnotizing loop, you can check out the full list of planned bonuses for the Anniversary event below. An extra golden loot box will be given when purchasing 50 Anniversary loot boxes.

New loot boxes will be available to every player that signs in to Overwatch. Previous seasonal loot will also be included in Loot Boxes during the anniversary event. This is to be expected since Blizzard typically releases new skins to celebrate in-game events. Although the old gear will be lumped into the same loot boxes as the new stuff, so it might be harder to just nab the newer items if that's all you want.
