A Star Wars Story in theaters, we're talking Star Wars, specifically - Are the prequels worth a second look?

As reported by Hollywood Reporter, the news comes from Lucasfilm who are also in the process of developing movies of a slew of characters across the Star Wars universe.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, James Mangold has been tapped to write and direct a standalone feature centered on the taciturn bounty hunter.

It was rumored that Simon Kinberg, the writer-producer behind the X-Men franchise and movies such as The Martian, was working on a Fett movie.

The Star Wars franchise has experienced a renaissance at the hands of Disney.

Boba Fett's rampant popularity is one of the great mysteries of the Star Wars fandom.

James Mangold, the filmmaker behind Logan and Walk the Line, is set to write and direct the film, Variety says it's learned "from several sources".

A Star Wars Story has now been released worldwide and fans have discovered that it contains a quick but significant reference to a character from The Phantom Menace - and no, it's not the one you're probably thinking of.

That's about everything we know about it the standalone Boba Fett movie for the time being. There, Han Solo was frozen in carbonite for Boba Fett to deliver to Jabba the Hutt. In the original trilogy (to which Solo is a prequel of sorts) the bounty hunter Boba Fett was Solo's nemesis, with Fett constantly looking to hunt down the owner of the Millennium Falcon. He has also appeared in the animated series The Clone Wars. But we can not take one more spinoff. Jeremy Bulloch portrayed Fett onscreen in "Empire" and "Jedi", with Jason Wingreen providing his voice; Daniel Logan played him in "Clones".
