At MWC 2018 earlier this year, the Taiwanese tech firm was not in the limelight.

It might strike most as unusual, but as per leaks, HTC might be calling their upcoming flagship, the U12 Plus and not the U12.

The company has posted the date on social media along with the text 'Coming Soon.

The Twitter post from HTC suggests "A phone that is more than the sum of its specs" and along with that they have posted an image showing the internals of the handset.

The phone was initially spotted with the code name "Imagine", and since that point a number of details have come out about what we can expect from the HTC U12 launch date. There is no official confirmation though. The U12+ is rumoured to sport a 5.99-inch Quad HD+ display with a resolution of 2880 × 1440 pixels and 18:9 aspect ratio. The front will also offer dual cameras with 8MP+8MP modules and realtime bokeh effects. Users can further expand the storage up to 2TB by adding a microSD card.

The hybrid dual SIM phone will have connectivity options such as 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 ac (2.4 and 5 GHz), Bluetooth 5.0, Global Positioning System with GLONASS, NFC, USB Type-C. The device will run on HTC's custom Sense UI based on Android 8.0 Oreo. The phone is said to pack two cameras of 16MP and 12MP at the back with the secondary sensor acting as a telephoto lens.
