Fitbit adds menstrual cycle tracking to its smartwatch app

Initially I thought this feature was only going to work with SMS and maybe a few other apps, but it works with pretty much every messaging app I have installed on my phone.

As of this month, Fitbit users who have identified themselves as female in their profile will get notifications about female health tracking and they can opt-in to get this data.

Default quick replies include: 'Yes, ' 'No, ' 'Sounds Good!,' 'Can't talk now - will reply later, ' and'Whats up?' You're also able to respond with a variety of emojis including the smiley face, crying with laughter face, running emoji, and more.

We know that Fitbit has been making a concerted push into serious health tracking and the addition of eight new healthcare apps to its Fitbit Gallery app store proves that it's not wasting any time in turning its wearables into health monitoring devices.

Update to the latest version of the Fitbit app (iOS and Android) to check out the new features. The apps and clock faces that have been announced come from Dexcom, Diplomat Pharmacy Inc, Fitabase, Humana, Limeade, One Drop, Sickweather, and Walgreens. It is also adding text responses for Android users.
