Aston Villa boss Steve Bruce has been talking about how proud he is of helping the club after they were relegated from the Premier League.

Aston Villa defender Ahmed Elmohamady is recovering from a hamstring injury and could replace James Bree at right-back if the Egyptian is fully fit.

In any case, it won't be an issue unless Villa beat Fulham on Saturday.

John Terry (below) has been the king pin of the Villa defence over the course of this season, but he veteran centre-back was exposed as the highly-rated Ryan Sessegnon picked out a ideal pass to send Cairney in on goal after 23 minutes.

Villa will take on Fulham at the Wembley Stadium in London in the Championship playoffs final this evening.

Jokanovic, who took charge at Craven Cottage in December 2015, is not anxious about his team's relative inexperience as the west London club prepare for their first trip to Wembley since 1975, when they lost the FA Cup final 2-0 to West Ham.

Villa pushed hard for an equaliser in the second half and Fulham goalkeeper Marcus Bettinelli prevented Jack Grealish from netting a superb solo effort.

On the half-hour mark, Fredericks contested with Grealish for the ball, losing out to the midfielder who was fouled. "It is going to be a great challenge".

Ten-man Fulham had a great chance second the decisive second goal when Aleksandar Mitrovic blasted over the bar with the goal at his mercy after 74 minutes, with the tension in this game reaching boiling point as the game entered its final quarter.

"He has sort of brought that Premier League class into Fulham and they have not looked back since they signed him". We were unlucky last season not to have the opportunity [to play at Wembley].

"A lot of people said we had to change the way we play and gave us a lot of stick", he said.

Jokanovic also singled out match-winner Cairney after his goal fired Fulham to promotion.

'I just knew what he would give.

He recalled to The Sun: "I was at United during the golden years when it was Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes, the Nevilles, Rio Ferdinand, Nemanja Vidic, Anderson, Wayne Rooney, Michael Owen, Nani".
