Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 won't have a single player campaign

Call of Duty Black Ops 4 will be released by Activision and Treyarch in October for PS4, Xbox One and PC. With that said, Activision seems to be building the most ambitious battle royale game to date.

It also introduces a new manual health system that you must strategically employ: choose when to regenerate your health as it recharges on a cooldown. With Black Ops 4, we've designed an experience for all play styles and skill levels from casual to competitive. As for Zombies, three maps are available at launch and it adds new characters and weapons too.

Greene has said in the past he does not mind Battle Royale competitors as long as they are not carbon copies of PUBG and bring some kind of new spin on the last man standing formula.

The new mode takes players into the familiar traits of the Battle Royale mode and applies a Call of Duty touch to it.

One glaring thing that is pretty obvious about this announcement is a lack of anything relating to a single-player campaign. Why ditch a campaign for a battle royale mode in Black Ops 4? Could this be their way of proving this rumor is true?

Black Ops 4 represents the largest development team assembled for a PC title in the series.

While Activision did not reveal official gameplay footage for Blackout mode, promotional footage played at Thursday's event featured memorable characters like CIA Special Agent Jason Hudson, Captain Viktor Reznov of the Red Army and Master Sergeant Frank Woods. It was also revealed that the map will be made up of different parts of maps that have been in past Call of Duty games. That's a lot of zombies to deal with in just one game. This time around Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 will ditch the single player campaign and instead focus on multiplayer.

Black Ops 4 Zombies goes way beyond Spaceland.

If you want to play Black Ops 4 digitally on PC you'll have to buy it right from Activision.

As mentioned above, the new Black Ops 4 release will feature a Battle Royale mode, which will hope to compete with the likes of Fortnite.

Black Ops 4 sounds like it's going to be the biggest title in the franchise ever. Also, the game will arrive to PC gamers exclusively via Blizzard's Battle.net, ditching Steam from the equation for possibly all upcoming games in the series. With the success of games like OverWatch, I am sure Activision has been planning a non-campaign COD for some time now.

This version will be custom-built for the PC via partnerships with Blizzard and Beenox.
