Buttler makes easy work of Mumbai to lift Royals to fifth place

It has been a dramatic turnaround for the Rohit Sharma-led Mumbai Indians after a string a losses early in the tournament. Lewis, who narrowly survived being caught by Stuart Binny in the third over, made good use of the reprieve to blast his way to 60 runs off 42 deliveries. Mumbai's middle order is not going great, although, in the last match, wicketkeeper Ishan Kishan's innings will have given relief to coach Mahela Jayawardene.

The result at the Wankhede Stadium was decisive since the victor not only bagged two valuable points, but also derail the loser's challenge for the race to the knockouts. If Yadav, Rohit, Lewis, Ishan Kishan and JP Duminy are in the form, Mumbai will be hard to stop.

Ishan Kishan (wk), Hardik Pandya, Ben Cutting, Krunal Pandya, Jean-Paul Duminy, Mitchell McClenaghan, Mayank Markande, Jasprit Bumrah.

After a good start, Mumbai team lost the rhythm, but to make the place in the playoff, they would have to perform like a unit.

On the bowling front, young leggie Mayank Markande has been the find of the season and his role will be crucial if the likes of rampaging Jos Buttler and other Rajasthan batters are to be restricted tomorrow.

Once again, West Indian Kieron Pollard is likely to sit out. "I want to do well for MI first and then I will see how it goes", the all-rounder noted. They must be hoping they can turn the tables this time around too.

Former Mumbai player Jos Buttler's form has revived Rajasthan.

The 43rd match of the Indian Premier League is between Mumbai Indians and Rajasthan Royals. Meanwhile, following RR's victory Chennai Super kings have qualified for the playoffs and now two spots are up for grabs. But their out-of-form skipper Ajinkya Rahane will need to pull his socks up. That solves a lot of problems for Mumbai Indians. After Rahane's dismissal, Buttler added 61 runs with Sanju Samson, who chipped in with a useful cameo of 26 runs as Royals overhauled the target with 12 balls to spare.

And at the Wankhede, team winning toss could be eager to chase as the pitch tends to get better through the game.
