Body found in search for Frightened Rabbit singer

Police searching for Frightened Rabbit singer Scott Hutchison have found the body of a man near South Queensferry, Scotland.

Surveillance footage obtained by authorities showed the guitarist last leaving the Dakota Hotel in South Queensferry in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

"Depression is a horrendous illness that does not give you any alert or indication as to when it will take hold of you", the statement read. "Scott battled bravely with his own issues for many years and we are immensely proud of him for being so open with his struggles", they continued.

In a post on Twitter just before his disappearance, he wrote, 'Be so good to everyone you love. His willigness to discuss these matters in the public domain undoubtedly raised awareness of mental health issues and gave others confidence and belief to discuss their own issues.

Concern for the frontman's whereabouts grew after he tweeted a series of tweet, posting about his life in the past-tense before writing 'I'm away now.

Frightened Rabbit, which was based in Glasgow and also included Hutchison's brother Grant, had been playing music together since 2003 and was known for its emotional strain of rock and roll.

When Hutchison first disappeared on Wednesday the band wrote on Twitter: "We are anxious about Scott, who has been missing for a little while now".

Frightened Rabbit had been busy throughout the last few months; the band tourned North America and the celebrate the 10th anniversary of their record The Midnight Organ Fight, released in 2008. One Frightened Rabbit song, from 2016's Painting of a Panic Attack, began with his announcement, "I have a long list of tepid disappointments". The band performed at Lollapalooza that year.

Other Scottish musicians paid tribute to Hutchison.

Irish rock band Snow Patrol said they were devastated to hear the news about their friend.

Scotland's First Minister Nicola Sturgeon also tweeted: "Heartbreaking news". In February, they embarked on a tour.

Frightened Rabbit's Scott Hutchison has died, according to a report from BBC News. Their debut album Dance Music, featuring Editors' Justin Lockey and his brother James Lockey of Minor Victories, was released in April.
