The episode was so good that even the politically tinged cold open was solid-which is saying something.

The appearance of De Niro as Mueller was a surprise, since Kate McKinnon has been playing him in previous sketches.

The pair put on a spoof where De Niro played Special Counsel Robert Mueuller and his pal Stiller took on the persona of Trump's personal lawyer Michael Cohen.

No topics were left untouched, as De Niro, asked Stiller about alleged payments made to "Stormy Daniels", who claims to have had an affair with Donald Trump in 2006, and alleges that she was paid $130,000 before the 2016 election, in exchange for her silence.

The two men reprised a scene from Meet The Parents in which De Niro gave his would-be son-in-law a lie-detector test.

"Directly? No. But let's just say I cut a lot of letters out of a lot of magazines, ' replies 'Cohen". "Because it'll be me", Pence says at one point, receiving a high-five from Sessions. "I'm just trying to milk some information out of people, so what?"

Oh yeah, and they brought back the famous "I have nipples" bit.

At the end of the SNL sketch, DeNiro's Mueller says to the fake Cohen: "Now you listen to me, you little weasel". From Stiller's awkward suggestion that cats can be milked (watch out Mr. Jinx!) to De Niro's insistence that they'll be catching all those "Fockers", it's a fun moment indeed for fans of the 2000 comedy.

He reveals that Trump's code name used to be "Putin's little b***h", but has since been changed to "Stormy's little b****". At the end, Mueller even told Cohen the Federal Bureau of Investigation will "catch all you little Fockers".
