Mourinho Angered At Suggestion That United Won City The Title

Jose Mourinho has stressed that Manchester City won the Premier League title "because they won more points than everyone else" and not because Manchester United lost to West Bromwich Albion.

The Citizens opened a 16 point gap over their city rivals after beating Tottenham Hotspur 3-1 at the Wembley Stadium yesterday to inch closer to winning the EPL title this summer.

City will celebrate their Premier League glory at home to Swansea next Sunday.

"I trust in my work, that is for sure - I have no reason not to trust", he said. I'm sorry, it's much more important what these guys have done this season.

"These guys are fantastic, awesome - they are incredible". They are fantastic and have been awesome over the last eight or nine months.

"We always gave them the opportunity to be solid, compact, together with huge physical strong players, they always had time to organise themselves".

"What's happened in the last week is so unfair". Very happy to call us champions this year.

"Today, we've done it many many times and that's why we're in the position we are". "I want to bring a family atmosphere to the club".

"I saw lots of people in the moon because we won against City".

"This is not a dynasty, it is one title we've won". It was three years ago and I know how to win.

Mauricio Pochettino while reacting the penalty call by referee Jon Moss said he has no issue with the call, saying it could have been in his favour. "But I expect you to be consistent".

"They won because they were the best team, they lost only a few points". I was unfortunate enough to play against that quality United side that dominated in the '90s, but this side would have beaten them - that's how good they are. You have to accept it as part of the game.

The Baggies are sitting at the base of the English Premier League table standings and will find it hard to stop a Manchester United side that is pushing to finish second in the league this year.

But, Mourinho has insisted City's victory was down to their consistency and bizarrely began listing his own title triumphs when asked about the new champions.
