God of War: Mimir's Vision Is PlayStation's First AR Tie-In App

There are large bodies of water in the game, and they seem like they'll take forever to cross, but remember - Kratos is a god. They don't have much health to whittle down, but some of them can be out of reach on ledges, so you'll be better off getting them with projectiles.

The game moves away from its Greek roots and takes it over to the Norse side of the world where Kratos must teach his son to survive and fight notable figures from Norse mythology at the same time. Hopefully, in about a decade as they wrap up what we're guessing will be a new trilogy, we'll have a whole new batch of bosses to add to this list. When that happened, "The Witch" (who is actually Baldur's mother, Freya) swears vengeance on Kratos. So here are five of those things we wish we knew before starting God of War.

Anticipation around God Of War has been high ever since the reimagining of the story was announced nearly two years ago.

You'll eventually come across Mystic Gateways during your travels. "This edition of the game comes with a steel book case, 9" Kratos & Atreus Statue by Gentle Giant, 4 Nordic stylized Cravings, a cloth map of the game, and more! Levelling up, earning currency, gaining more abilities and gear, all of these have more in common with fully-fledged role-playing games than Kratos' past adventures.

But Detroit: Become Human, Spider-Man, The Last Of Us Part II, and Days Gone are all listed as "currently unavailable" and you can't pre-order them. With such a big game to tackle, there's a lot that we wish we knew before diving headfirst into this Nordic Valhalla of a gameplay experience.

Cronus was first teased in the first God of War as a lumbering, tortured Titan banished to wander the desert forever. It's absolute spectacle, especially considering the scale. And though Kratos' fists are a good alternative, you're best served recalling the axe as soon as you can.
