Evoni Williams, an 18-year-old Waffle House worker, went viral after she was pictured helping the elderly and partially disabled customer cut up his ham.

But on March 3, what she did for a sick elderly customer was captured in a photo that went viral.

The customer mentioned his hands didn't "work too good", so Williams made a decision to help him out by lending a helping hand. "He was also on oxygen and struggling to breathe".

Laura Wolf snapped this photo in the middle of that moment.

"This may seem small but to him, I'm sure it was huge", Wolf wrote. "I'm thankful to have seen this act of kindness and caring at the start of my day while everything in this world seems so negative".

"That just meant something to me".

The photograph has been liked more than 52,000 times and shared more than 42,000 times. Williams said she was surprised by the outpouring of praise for her act of kindness.

Even though Evoni was extremely busy, she didn't hesitate.

She says she will still work at Waffle House.

In addition, Williams was given her own day by the City of La Marque.

Texas Southern University also took notice of Williams' act of kindness and offered her a $16,000 scholarship after learning she works at the restaurant as a way to save for college, according to ABC 13. "It just came from the heart", Williams said.
