Shoe hurled at ousted PM Nawaz Sharif in Lahore

TV footage showed a shoe hitting Nawaz Sharif on his shoulder as he came to address the gathering.

Nawaz, meanwhile, addressed the event after the chaos ended. The incident took place at Jamia Naeemia madrasa (religious seminary) in Lahore. He also hoped that justice would done to Mian Nawaz Sharif.

The committee had also elected Nawaz as lifetime Quaid of the party.

Moreover, in March 2012, Shahbaz was elected president of the PML-N's Punjab chapter.

A petition filed by a habitual petitioner, Mahmood Akhtar Naqvi for the court to take action against Sharif and his family members for anti-judiciary remarks during Panama case verdict.

Sharif said his government initiated multiple projects and laid out the network of motorways.

Nawaz said the manifesto of his party is based on four words: "Vote ko izzat do [respect the people's vote]". "He confidently stated that "(Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chief) Imran Khan and (former co-chairperson of Pakistan People's Party Asif Ali) Zardari combined can not defeat Nawaz under any circumstance". Addressing them, he asked who they had "prostrated before" and what services that person had given to the country.

"You have lost even if you won", Sharif said and added the nation knew them, labeling them as hypocrites.

Shehbaz thanked Nawaz, his brother, for entrusting the important party position to him. "They all are just puppets playing to the tunes of others", the PML-N leader said.

The apex court ruled that a person disqualified under Article 62 and 63 can not serve as the head of a political party.

However, with the speedy passage of the Elections Act 2017 ─ which amended the requirements necessary for top party leadership to possess ─ Nawaz managed to retake party leadership.
